Sai Gon J.S. Commercial Bank (SCB) was established in 1992. Rapid growth in business
As of 1st quarter of 2018, SCB was among the top 5 biggest commercial banks in Vietnam with total assets of more than VND457,650 billion, a charter capital of VND14,295 billion. The same growth in deposits and loans at 4.2% rate brought about an increase of nearly VND15,000 billion in deposits and VND14,000 billion in loans. In 2017 and 1st quarter of 2018, non-interest income strongly increased to contribute to 30% of total income. Furthermore, SCB targeted to increase the number of personal customers to 2 million by 2020. To do so, in 2018 SCB will attempt to obtain a base of 300,000 new customers.
A modern, versatile and popular brand name
SCB has made an investment in expanding transaction space, renovated indoor outfits and external displays at every transaction units under a standardized design to create a modern and professional environment and provide the interesting experience to customers. In addition, SCB has enhanced interaction with customers via online channels: launching the smart website with surpassing functions and customer friendliness; developing social networks such as Facebook, Zalo to promptly provide useful information of SCB to customers. SCB branding development has been promoted in many activities of business and sponsoring social contribution and charity.
Network and staff expansion
In 2017, SCB has been approved by State Bank to establish 02 new branches and 09 transaction offices, getting the business network up to 239 in 28 provinces/cities nationwide. In the first quarter of 2018, SCB has put 02 branches and 03 transaction offices into operation with well-equipped facility; relocated 13 transaction units. In 2017, SCB has hired more than 1,000 new employees, contributing to more than 5,400 employees at present and 41% of which are sales staff.
Information technology and security investment
In 2017, SCB was the first bank in Vietnam to achieve the PCI DSS Certificate 3.2, the latest version with more stringent requirements on security in the issuance and card acceptance adopted by International Payment Card Security Standards Council. This standard is annually re-assessed. At early 2018, SCB has received the PCI DSS Certificate for the second time from ControlCase.
