Peter Vesterbacka

Mr. Vesterbacka has a solid background in mobile innovations. He is the co-founder of Lightneer, and MobileMonday. He has also founded one of the biggest startup events in Europe, Slush, but is probably best known as the former Mighty Eagle of Rovio’s Angry Birds. 

Peter Vesterbacka, is widely acknowledged as the pre-eminent entrepreneur and visionary from the Nordic region. He has been listed by TIME magazine as among the 100 most influential people in the world. He was the force behind creating the famous Angry Birds franchise – one of the most significant start-ups to come out of the Nordics. 

Peter founded the world’s leading non-profit startup and tech event – Slush, held every year in Helsinki. Started in 2008, Slush is today Europe’s leading tech event, with 17,500 attendees, 2,300 start-ups and 1,100 investors representing 130 countries. Peter is also the driving force behind the creation of a region that will be Europe’s Silicon Valley – the FinEst Link project, a $15 Billion multi-government infrastructure initiative by the City of Helsinki, Tallinn, the Estonian and Finnish Governments. In 2018 Mr. Vesterbacka also became Adjunct Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Tongji University in Shanghai.
